Heavy Duty VM’s and Equipment Mechanic Track (176jc) – Mannheim/Dulmen, Germany – starting at €20 per hour + Free Accommodation and Transport

My client is now seeking to recruit a number of Heavy VM’s for a contact in Germany for the maintenance of US Military vehicles based initially in Dulmen and Mannheim, but there may be other locations in Germany and possibly elsewhere.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

The project is looking to go live in July, and they are seeking to recruit a number of personnel for this 12-month initial contract.

Your role will consist of:
• Performs organizational, intermediate level maintenance/modifications on military equipment, sub-systems, support equipment and related systems.
• Diagnoses system malfunctions, isolate causes, and correct deficiencies.
• Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using Technical Manuals (TM), lifting devices, hand, and pneumatic tools.
• Inspects, repairs, and replaces components, engines, transmissions, and sub-assemblies.
• Identifies parts in repair manuals and places order request for needed parts.
• May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment, may adjust and maintain machinery such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling, and cutting machines, and any other related machinery.
• Recommends revisions to maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and ensure quality workmanship.

To be eligible for this role you will need the following qualifications:
• Minimum five (5) years of recent heavy equipment experience gained either in military or commercial application. Alternative: Training as an agricultural or commercial tracked equipment mechanic, optimal ex. Military personnel with track experience.

Desirable knowledge:
• M1 tanks, M2/3 Bradley fighting vehicles, M113 series track vehicles, M88 recovery vehicles, AVLB bridge launchers or similar foreign military equipment.

Experience
• Junior: 3 years vocational training with maintenance background (on job training possible)
• Senior: 5-10 years of experience
• Master: more than 10 years of experience or Master’s Degree

So, the ideal candidates would be individuals from the REME or similar, who have experience of working on heavy and tracked vehicles and who are able to work full time within Germany for an extended period.

In return they are offering a good hourly rate, free shared accommodation, 22 days leave, The standard working week will be 48 hrs per week, with over time being paid for any hours over 48 and night shifts. This contract will be on the German net and they will organise the work permit if required and the hourly rate will increase with the level of experience and knowledge you can bring with you.
